My first day at the Digital Research Centre

I have begun a new job as a research assistant on Dr. Yin Liu's Medieval Codes project today.  I began my day at the DRC (Digital Research Centre), met the other team members and began my work on the project.  I familiarized myself with the project itself as well as with some of the manuscripts I will be working with.  It has been in the past few months that I have started to discover the wonders of the digital humanities.  I have even suggested a workshop at the DRC to learn a new program that allows one to create on-line exhibits.
I am very excited to be a part of the Medieval Codes team! Here is a link to the project's blog.  http://www.medievalcodes.ca  One of the things I will be doing in the future is writing posts for the blog.
Yin showed me this amazing animation of the Bayeaux Tapestry today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtGoBZ4D4_E
I hope to use it as an educational resource in the future with the Museum of Antiquities' education outreach programs, school tours and workshops.

  1. Love the medieval helpdesk. Have you read any Jasper Fforde? he has lots of fun with the Book Operating System.
